Deck Demonica Mac OS
BIAS has made some exciting announcements regarding the Mac platform — Peak and Deck, the companies flagship professional audio programs, will soon support Mac OS X.
OBS Studio 24.0.5 is available for macOS. If you upgrade OBS to this new version, then Elgato Stream Deck integration will not work anymore. To solve this issue, you will need to reinstall Elgato Stream Deck 4.4.1 or later. Please note that this issue only affects macOS users. I've offered a bunch of power tips to customize the contents of your OS X Dock: Adding spaces between applications, for example, or adding recently-added apps and documents. If you went overboard, however, and your Dock is now far too disorderly for your tastes, here's how to reset it.
Peak is the company’s two-channel digital audio editing program for the Mac. The Carbonized version is scheduled to be released in November, making BIAS one of the first developers to release a professional audio tool to support the new Mac operating system, according to Christine Berkley, BIAS vice president of marketing.
A Carbonized version of BIAS Deck — the multitrack audio editing, mixing, and signal processing program, with support for up to 999 virtual tracks, real-time automated mixing, and multiple plug-ins — is due soon after the Peak release, she added. Along with supporting all the enhancements provided by OS X, the forthcoming versions of Peak and Deck will also run under OS 9. In developing these new versions of Peak and Deck, BIAS is working to ensure that both programs are fully compliant with Core Audio, a key component of Mac OS X, Berkley said.
Sony™ compatible RS-422 deck control port. Serial ports TxRx direction reversible under software control. 1 x USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 (up to 5 Gb/s). UHS-I and UHS-II compatible. Computer Interface. Thunderbolt™ 3 (Mac OS, Windows and Linux) with 45W host charging capability. Download macOS Catalina for an all‑new entertainment experience. Your music, TV shows, movies, podcasts, and audiobooks will transfer automatically to the Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books apps where you’ll still have access to your favorite iTunes features, including purchases, rentals, and imports. On Mac OS X using current Audacity or legacy 1.3.12 or later, the following procedure should get sound from the USB audio input device into Audacity. This includes USB turntables, USB cassette decks and external USB audio input/output adapters.

“Our customers will certainly benefit from OS X’s more publicized features, such as protected memory space for enhanced system stability, and, of course, the very cool Aqua interface,” she added. “But thanks to Core Audio, Peak and Deck will also support new generations of multichannel, multiclient hardware, with performance that can exceed 24-bit/96kHz. Just imagine, for instance, running Deck on channels 1 through 6 of an audio interface, while simultaneously running Peak on channels 7 and 8 — and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.”
Details such as pricing and new feature enhancements for the forthcoming Mac OS X-compatible versions of Peak and Deck haven’t been announced yet.
Meanwhile, Deck VST 3.0, a brand-new version of the product is now shipping. This upgrade expands Deck’s real-time effects capabilities and includes a major update to the program’s graphic user interface, Berkley said. Closely following the recent release of Deck 2.7, which included integration of Steinberg’s popular ASIO standard for third-party audio hardware, this new version of Deck now offers support for VST, Steinberg’s widely adopted real-time plug-in format. Deck VST 3.0 also ships with more that 25 free VST plug-ins, including Waves AudioTrack, featuring Paragraphic EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Expander and Gate.
“We are pleased to bring VST support to Deck,” said Jason Davies, vice president of worldwide sales for BIAS. “Deck has always been a leading native Macintosh multitrack recording, editing and mixing environment. Adding support for VST plug-ins, a standard for native audio processing on the Mac, is a natural development direction for Deck, and one that our customers will greatly benefit from.”
In addition to VST plug-in support, Deck 3.0 sports a brand-new user interface. The new interface gives the program a more modern look, a welcome addition since Deck’s graphic user interface has largely remained the same since 1997, Davies added.
Deck 3.0 is available now at a suggested retail price of US$399. BIAS Deck 2.7 owners are eligible for a free upgrade to version 3.0; owners of previous versions can choose from a variety of upgrade options. Visit the BIAS Web site for details.
When the app launcher proved to be a big hit on iOS, Apple introduced Launchpad–the iOS-style app launcher—with OS X Lion. And guess what? Most folks (including me) found the new add-on pretty adorable.
Launchpad is a convenient place to see and launch Mac apps. By default, the Launchpad icon is added to the macOS Dock. However, if you mistakenly removed it from the Dock, let me help you get it back.
How to add Launchpad to the Dock in Mac
- Open the Applications folder by pressing shift + command + A from Finder. You may also click Go at the Finder’s top Menu Bar and click Applications.
- Locate the Launchpad app.
- Next, drag the Launchpad icon from Finder to Mac’s Dock.
Note: In macOS Big Sur, the Launchpad icon looks like this:
Now, you can navigate apps or instantly access a specific one through the Launchpad icon.

Alternatively, you can also access Launchpad by pinching with four or five fingers on Mac’s trackpad. Additionally, you may also press F4 on most modern MacBooks to see all apps. Apart from these, you can also access Launchpad using Spotlight Search or setting it as a Hot Corner action.
